Windows 7 or vista..?

Hi to all
I am planning to buy new laptop.But confused little which system to buy.So please share your experience so i can get some ideas.which one is better..?

man all my friends i know, downgraded from Vista to XP at their laptops..so VISTA is an ABSOLUTELY NO, for a laptop...win 7 is much much better..

But there is no upgrade path from XP to 7

But if you plan to purchuse a new notebook (or netbook) Windows 7 will be a better choice. Personally I don't think that Vista is that bad - you just have to have appropriate hardware for that. Purchasing notebook with 1.5Ghz Celeron and 512MS of memory was a BIG mistake - now every notebook has a dual core cpu, at least 1GB (and 3GB is nothing uncommon) of system memory, and a pretty fast hard drive.

But Windows 7 is an improvement (some would say anything is better then Vista ;P ), it would be odd to purchase something older if you can haeve a newer and better software.

Hello I really enjoy the new windows 7 i rather reload it on a old laptop or notebook or a old computer. seam so much better!

for a laptop what are your plans of useing it for? gaming? internet video movies? if all three I would look into a XPS from dell. Dells makes some good notebook or laptop computer from my experience from friends to friends even there wife to girlfreinds all of them complaining about that they can't run games or even small games. the all had a toshiba and a IBM thinkpad and HP all of them are intel with intel graphics card that are awful to used. if you can find one with a graphics card in them is a way to go. the one that have nvidia or Ati video card in it. and don't go with to big of a video card in it take to much power. out of alota dells that my freinds gots. I was tempted to get one myself. they all telling me that so many times they drops there laptop and it still alive.
