"Cypress" is the codename for what is supposed to be Radeon 5800 series, ATI's next geeration DX11 high-end vidcard.

To replace this...

Does the south chipset get that worm that you had to use a fan on it? The radiator on it is pretty large does it not cope with the heat?

The two NF200s do get quite hot (I touched the HS to find out...ouch!). It's on an open jig, so the expected airflow across it (such as would be inside a case) has to be done using separate fans ATM.

I do plan a more extensive cooling solution, when I'm done with the current testing/benching.

Are all PCI-EX lanes connected via those two NF200's? Would it be possible to measure if there is any legacy when working across those two bridges? (ie crossfire/sli across two bridges and across one bridge)

Indeed increased latency is a concern. Such has been observed using SLI/Tri-SLI on NF200 vs X58 mobos.

Here however, the sheer horsepower of x16 *4 vidcards should make up for it :)
