Famous reverse engineer Jon Lech Johansen AKA DVD Jon claims that he discovered a way to initiate the phone without signing up for a contract with AT&T. The hack allows users to use the iPod and Wi-Fi capabilities less the phone features of the phone.

With this, you can use the iPhone as a music device or Wifi Device without the need to be locked down with 2 yrs plan with AT&T.
