Although memory cards have become a must for consumer electronics (CE) gadgets, various standards continue to be pushed in the market, creating some confusion among users. However, with size being a critical issue for consumers, the SecureDigital (SD) platform has taken on a rising role as compared with other standards, according to Lawrence Chang, Kingmax sales & marketing vice president. Chang noted that for small form factors, the market will consolidate around conventional SD and microSD cards.
