D2OL and Mandrake 10

Has anyone managed to run D2OL on mandrakelinux 10 ? So far i havent got it installed :(

problems occurred already when installing java.
decided to use mandrake 10 installation for folding. [img]smile.gif[/img]

i cant download the installer from d2ol server.

Got the d2ol installation file without java vm. java vm is nicely installed (also those 2 extra packages). But when i start the d2ol installation file then it reports that it doesnt find the java vm. I tried to locate it manually but with no luck. Anyone care to help me out ?

You could try running it without java, in cli mode. This has been posted by Bok on Free-DC forums:

untar downloaded program,

cd SengentD2OL/D2OL/res

edit general.prp

make LaunchMain=false

cd ..

and then launch with

./D2OL controller:cli

There are some other tips & tricks on how to run D2OL on different platforms, monitoring the clients, etc, on their D2OL forum - you might find it helpfull.

This is probably a pathing issue. I had to blow out that installation and use that machine for something else. I am going to try and install SUSE 64 on my machine later in the week. I may be able to help you with the pathing issues then.
