K7S5A support 9700 Pro ?

Hi all, n00b here. Hope you're all having Happy Holidays!

I've been falling into some amazing deals lately: found a 1900+ T-bred for $45 (USD) that led me to a K7S5A for $53 new. Now the mother of all deals has come my way > 9700 Pro for (are you sitting down) $100! I know!

I have a 350w PSU w/the recommended 220w on the 3.3v+ & 5.5v+ combined. A new PSU &/or mobo isn't an option as the card is pre$$ing things already. :(

Should I be able to run the card with the mobo? I know there are SiS 648 chip problems & some KT333 issues, but are there any K7S5A/735 issues w/a 9700 Pro?

The Card should be fine, as it also draws power from a floppy driver connector as well as the agp slot. Make sure you have one free [img]smile.gif[/img] And what a deal !Im jealous

I wandered into a thread on another board & a poster mentioned how their Rad 9700 didn't like DX9 & the new Cat DX9 driver. Said it messed up their system installing both & they pulled the card & went back to a Ti4600 after reformatting. Said the 9700 was going in the trash!

I jumped in & said it can go in my trash & I'll even pay for shipping. LOL! Poster replied that if I wanted it > $100 shipped & they'd ship 1st! I darn near fell out of my chair!

The card is on it's way & I get a 2week grace period to try it out. If I like it > $100 ... if not > return it. I've bought some other things off that board & my rep is that I pay & can be trusted (I can) so ...

Have a Happy New Year! (me & mine will) & isn't it refreshing to know there are some good & trusting ppl still in this world.
