K7s5a V.1
2000+ XP T-bred B
256MB PC2100 Crucial
30G Maxtor 7200rpm
Memorex 40x CD-writer
32MB PCI ATI 7000 video card
300W Sunpower PSU: 3.38v and 5.100 load stable
100MB internal Zip drive
56K V.92 Sterling modem
Win98SE clean install

I wonder my system is running at only about 1C higher than idle when benchmarking: Prime 95, Sisoft Sandra Burn-in Wizard and 3D Mark all together at the same time. The temp is at 42C almost all the time. Finaly I found out that my computer is using 100% CPU load when checking with MBM. Double check with windows system monitor: showing 100% CPU load at all time. Using 3 fingers salute Ctrl+Alt+Delete to disable all the programs running in the background but Explorer (only 3 running: antivirus, MBM and System Tray) with no difference. Using MSCONFIG to remove all and keep only ScanRegisty, Task Monitor and System Tray: still 100% CPU load. Also ran Ad-aware with the latest update.

WHAT IS HAPPENING IN MY SYSTEM?

Which anitivirus software are you running? I suggest AVG, it's free with free updates. Also, Adaware doesn't find everything, you can use Spybots S&D but use caution. You can find then here:

win98 doesn't have an "idle" process to let ur cpu rest and decrease it's temp.
so..... temperature wont vary much in win98 when full load and idle.

It is normal for win98 not to idle. Try using Cpucool, Rain, Waterfall...
