yesterday I bought a new ASRock mobo and 2 sticks of 512 spectek ram, I've replaced my ancient mobo(I don't know its name) and my old sdram sticks with the brand new mobo and ram, and now games run slower! I have ATI radeon 9600 256mb ddram video card

I don't play a lot, but recently I've been playing GTA: san andreas on High settings and 1024X724:32 resolution, and the game ran almost flawless, with the new ram and mobo I expected the game to run on even higher settings but its horrible now, I've set it to 800X600:16bit and lowest settings and I still lag on chases and such!

I've tried other games and I still got the same poor performance, anyone could help?

Yep, if not, all sorts of old files with the wrong config will hang around and clog your windows up. So I'd recommend formatting the HD and do a clean install.

Btw. you forgot to mention what Asrock board you bought? Also don't forgetto install the latest drivers from the Asrock website. Usually they are better than the drivers microsoft puts with their windows versions.

I have the latest motherboard drivers installed from the cd(same version as the ones on their website), this is my motherboard:

I'm really not sure what its called other than p4 combo.

I'll be formatting anyway later today, and I'll check what else you guys have to say.
