Hello,
why is it not possible to connect two Ata100-Drives to the Pri-RAID connector (40pin, not the serial)? I did also not understand, why it should be necessary to install Raid drivers before installing Windows XP on a harddisk, which is connected to this port. With my old Asus A7V I did not need any drivers to use the additional Promise-ports for installing Windows.
I have not installed the A7V8X yet, because I want to connect 2 harddisks (Ata 100), 1 cd burner, 1 DVD and one Zip. If I connect one harddisk together with the DVD to the usual Primary IDE-Port, the harddisk would be probably slowed down. I did not understand the manual, thus i want to ask anyone else, who has some more experience.
I would be happy, if anyone can give me a advice.
