how close are ther capacitors around your NB? i've got atleast one cap touching the lower front edge of the ns base, which leaves no room for anything larger than a zalman base

Ah, gotcha. 939SLI32 is fairly clear around the NB's immediate vicinity, but not overly so. Thermaltake's Crystal Orb and Vantec's Copper chip cooler won't fit at all due to stuff in the way. Also, the Northpole or XE will not work on the SB as there's some serious crowding there. For that I use Thermalright's HR-05 though it's quite a bit higher than 47mm but does have a very small footprint which just covers the chip.

yeah, the HR05 is angled too, ain't it. that might work

edit: read your review . i think one from asetek might work better on a 1695 rather that the HR05

Asetek? The vapochill micro is a cpu cooler. Perhaps you're thinking of the Force Chipset cooler which is angled and somewhat adjustable. I did look into that one and found it wouldn't work well with the 939SLI32 due to mobo components getting in the way.

yeah, thought it was for chipsets. silly me:D. that force cooler just might fit in with the look of the rest of my rig
