Is there a favoured or most commonly used graphics card to use with the K7S8X motherboard?

Radeon 9000 Pro works fine.

Just upgraded to a Radeon 9500 Pro. It works fine as well, although the greater power demands of the card forced me to upgrade my low-spec 300w PSU

Currently I am using a MSI Geforce 4 4200 TE 64MB as a loan and now it runs fine and fast.
I´m planning to buy a Geforce 4 4200 TE 128MB card. Ati cards are currently state of the art but I don´t like their driver suite and the desktop display quality is not that good (a little bit unsharp in contrast to nVidia, but that´s my opinion).

phazer,
Interesting comment. The ATI cards are widely considered to have superior 2D display quality to the NVidia cards - I've had both, and and for me at least the ATI is superior

I have a Ati radeon 7500

The g-force cards on the same level tend to have better pre FSAA proformance then their ATi counter parts, but then the ATI cards have better post FSAA speeds, in other words, buy the g-force if you like speed but texture looking like wet paper, buy the ati if you consider image quality more important

Thumbs up

Thanks to all who took the time and trouble to reply your comments were very informative. I have limited component knowledge. This evening I ordered an ATI 9500 Pro from Scan as these posts and a couple more topics have stated no problems. It was more than I wanted to spend, £150 with next day delivery, but my last card was ATI and it run without problems. My main use will be for photo from digital camera and video footage of new family members and my wife, (The Dragon), wants the pics and footage to be OK. Looking for an easy life, Heaven help me. Once again thanks to all.
