I'm not sure if this has been covered already but anyway..

after some more experimenting with overclocking, I found that if I set my CPU FSB @ 200 (multi @ 8.5 giving me 1.7ghz) and I set my memory frequency to 160mhz, everything is sweet!

However, if I up the memory frequency to 166mhz (333mhz PC2700), It will not boot as this is claimed to be a motherboard problem if the memory freqency is 33mhz slower then actual FSB.

But if I set the memory frequency in sync (200mhz), I get no further then the XP loading screen and reboots itself resulting in an endless loop! note due to stock HSF, I do not plan to go over v1.7 on the CPU core so maybe I need more voltage in order for 200/200.

So at the moment, it's at 200/160, still making sure its absolutly stable which it is. Is this an indication that the ram is weak or what? The ram itself will run at 200mhz and overclocked it to 227mhz resulting its limit.

the ram voltage is set to 2.9v and I have KingMAX PC3200. Also the only best speed I can get my system running stable is 180/180

cheers

does anyone know why I can't run 200/200 in sync but if I have 200/160 (cpu/mem) or 180/200 (cpu/mem) everything works??

It's just getting it to work in Sync that is my problem. anyone know a resolution to fix?

cheers

I am in the same boat.
I have 2 fixes.

1. Get another 8RDA+ mobo and hope it works.

OR

2. Do the vdd mod.

Welp Its Valentine Day and I used some micro alligator clicks covered with shrink tubing and hooked a 680 resistor to it and I have 1.85 volts for vdd mod.

Hahahahaa...

Have 200 FSB stable with mod now in SYNC !

I have ordered another 8RDA+ and I will be keeping the best of the 2.

Thats life in the Fast Lane.
Sproket

Now I just have to Cool NB and SB.
