Nuh uh, people all over the place are reporting that the more recent drivers cause major performance drops with Ti series cards, and that certain versions vary performance a lot even with FX cards. nVidia *really* need to sort out their drivers...

I'm using 40.72 on my Ti4200. Da'rayven is right! 40 series drivers are best for DX8 cards and the 50 series is for the DX9 cards. I get Way Better Performance and Scores using the 40 series. If you are using the FX series use the 50 series drivers and if you're using the Ti series you'll get better performance and numbers using the 40 series drivers. Here's where the scores go up. ;)

53.04, no problems with these Nvidia cards: Ti4200, 5600fx, 5900fx, gf4-420, gf4-400.

3rd party drivers like Omega and Startstorm were problematic lockup artifact generators at best. Your milage may vary.

The 40 series drivers could (I can't remember) be better on the DX8 series cards, but I don't feel like keeping different sets of drivers on every machine to get better benchmark scores. These machines are on a game LAN. I'm lazy I guess.

I have a Ti4200(64mb). Is it safe to assume that the more recent the 40-series driver, the better it is for my DX8 card?
