Red face

Hi!

I tried 148fsbx13.5= 2000MHz. It won't boot at 1.65vCore.

It will boot at 1.70vCore. But wont get me into windows.

It will only get me into windows at 1.80vCore. But isn't stable and just freezes; the mouse cursor wont move anymore.

So I went all the way up to 1.90vCore, but still freezes on me :(

My dividers are set to 5:2:1

Is my CPU that bad?
Please help me out!

Thnx.

[edit]
I think my stepping is somethinge like AGUIA
Dont know for sure.

Why do you use 5:2:1 divider for ~148 fsb?For this settings pci is ~29,6mhz! 5:2:1 settings should be used above~160 fsb! What temp have your cpu for this settings, also.

My CPU internal temp is 61(!) Outside the CPU it's 49! (celsius)
That's with 1.80vCore.

So I should use divider 4:2:1?

My CPU cooler is from CoolerMaster. It can handle a 2600+ CPU max.

Maybe my ATI9700pro won't be able to handle the AGP speed? 148/2= 74MHz.

I'll try more and keep u all updated.

System specs:

AMD xp 2200+
512 DDR333 Nanya
ABiT AT7 MAX2
ATI 9700pro

First , your cpu temp is too high! For a good ocing should be under~45C!I don't know anything about your cooler but however should be with only copper heatsink! About agp speed:I can run with my Radeon 8500@166-4:2:1(agp~83mhz!)and its stable(3D&2D).I can load windows @~172-4:2:1-agp=86mhz(freeze in 3D but stable in 2D).
My specs:
Abit KX7-333(no raid)
Xp2000+@1815(173x10,5)@1,75v
Thermalright SLK 600 with delta fan
2x128 Kingmax pc [email protected]/2/5/2
Gigabyte Radeon 8500

1. your T-bred should be "a" version
2. if you run 147 fsb, that means that you got 29Pci freq. most your PCI device or HD might not stand for that(too low). more, your RAM won't be stable either.
you might think about 12x166 then change pci divider to 5:2:1, so you got pci/agp=33/66
and your ram can run DDR333
my rig:

Abit AT7MAX2
AXP 2400+(B)@ 2800+ (13.5x166)
ATI Radeon 9700 pro
View Sonic VX900 Monitor
Apacer DDR333 256MB x2
Teac 552s cdrom
Plextor 401240a
Pioneer 106s slot DVD
WD 120gb x2 raid 0
TOP power 520w
ThermalTake case

Hey guys.

Thnx for the reply's.

Allright... what did you mean with "a" version of the CPU? The stepping?

The CPU cooler I have has an copper inlay and the sink itself is aliminum. It's rated up to 2600+

When I run the CPU at default speed and vCore the temp is 48 degree celsius full load. I don't think that is the problem.

My 3dmark 2001 SE score is:
13350
I checked out some reviews and that is a normal score.

So I'll first need to unlock my CPU to get 12x166
Do you have any links on how to do that?

Thnx.

I don't think you need to!
If you need, just use conductive pen and connect the last bridge of L3
Oh, you know what , don't have to fill the pit, just do it curvely.
see this(note , this is not L3,)

Allright! You are great help! Thank you.

Now I need to find a conductive pen.

I'll try this in the weekend.

But what was this all about?

1. your T-bred should be "a" version
